Imara Africa Securities today announced the addition of Andrew Schultz to its team with immediate effect. Andrew will lead the equity sales/strategy function which the Group say will deal with an existing gap in how it services its marketplace.

In a statement, Simon Reid, the Head of Institutional Trading, said "In the 3 years since we began this initiative we believe we have built a solid base in terms of the research product itself under Brian Mugabe and a robust and reliable platform via which to execute in every market in Africa where it is possible to buy or sell something which differentiates us from the investment banks."

Andrew is expected to provide a solid pivot point between the research/strategy function and maintaining constant engagement with analysts and PM's about relevant ideas.

"We have been aware for some time that we need to provide a bridge between all of our analysts and all the client analysts to provide a coherent communication structure."

Andrew comes with plenty of experience having started Avior's foray into Africa and as such has literally started from the ground up which gives him valuable experience that so few in his space have as yet.
