AfrAsia Bank Zimbabwe MD resigns

AfrAsia Bank Zimbabwe MD resigns
Published: 10 April 2014
AfrAsia Bank Zimbabwe (AfrAsia)'s managing director Tineyi Mawocha has resigned.

His resignation, under yet unclear circumstances, is barely three months after his appointment.

Sekai Chitemerere, AfrAsia Zimbabwe Holdings Limited (AZHL)'s corporate communications head, confirmed the development.

"...Mawocha resigned ... to pursue other personal interests," she said.

However, efforts to get his comment were fruitless as his mobile phone was unreachable.

Mawocha, a former Tetrad Bank MD, substantively replaced Francois Molife who resigned early last year.

Sylvester Dendere, who was acting MD following Molife's departure in March last year, retained his position as Mawocha's deputy.

He has since been appointed acting managing director for the second time.
