Cigarette manufacturer, British American Tobacco (BAT) has appointed three members to its board, while one non-executive director has left with effect from the 25th of July.

Messrs Alijandro Riomayor and Edwin Isaac Manikai, as well as Mrs Rachel Pfungwa Kupara, were all appointed non-executive directors.

The three new appointees bring with them experience in business and financial management, expected to enhance the operations of BAT.

Mr Riomayor is the current general manager for BAT Southern African Markets and has been with the group for over 20 years in Spain, Portugal, Andora, Ergentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Commercial legal expert, Mr Manikai brings over 31 years in commercial legal practice and general management and has played a key role in significant corporate actions on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

On the other hand, Mrs Kupara has held various senior management positions in the financial services sector, agriculture and manufacturing industries for over 30 years.

"The board welcomes these three new directors and looks forward to their contribution to the board," said BAT.

However, one non-executive director Mrs Angela Mashanyare left the firm.
