Average interest rates for money market investments were restricted by bank lending rates that ranged from between six percent and 12 percent in 2017, Old Mutual Securities (Omsec) has said.

In their portfolio manager's digest for the year to December 31, 2017, Omsec said the six to 12 percent narrowed the spread that banks could offer on money market investments during the period under review.
