Faramatsi Motors has announced the appointment of Marius Prinsloo as its new Managing Director, effective 1 October 2025, marking a major addition to the company's leadership team.
The appointment was confirmed in an executive announcement by Group Chief Executive Officer Farai Matsika, who praised Prinsloo's extensive industry experience and leadership track record across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Prinsloo brings more than 30 years of experience in the automotive sector, having started his career as an engineer at Nissan South Africa in 1992. Over the decades, he has held key roles within several major global automotive brands, including Toyota, Suzuki, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Hyundai.
Described as a values-driven and innovative leader, Prinsloo has earned a reputation for driving sustainable growth and transformation across multiple markets. His leadership style is characterised by a commitment to teamwork, operational excellence, and customer-centric strategies - qualities seen as crucial to steering Faramatsi Motors into its next phase of expansion.
"Marius is a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of the automotive industry and a passion for innovation and sustainable growth," Matsika said in a statement. "He is widely respected for building strong teams and driving transformative initiatives across various markets."
Industry observers say Prinsloo's appointment underscores Faramatsi Motors' ambition to strengthen its footprint in the regional automotive landscape and enhance operational efficiency amid growing competition.
As Managing Director, Prinsloo is expected to lead Faramatsi Motors' strategic growth initiatives, drive innovation in customer service and vehicle distribution, and consolidate the company's market position as one of Zimbabwe's leading automotive players.
"Please join me in warmly welcoming Marius to the Faramatsi family and extending your full support as he takes on this important role," Matsika added.
Faramatsi Motors, part of the broader Faramatsi Group, has grown into a key player in Zimbabwe's automotive and transport solutions sector, representing a range of leading vehicle brands and offering comprehensive after-sales services.
Prinsloo's appointment is expected to bring renewed momentum to the group's long-term vision of regional growth and customer-focused innovation.
