The ZANU-PF party says it is fully prepared to host its 22nd National People's Conference, with the venue, logistics, and financial requirements all in place ahead of this week's event in Mutare.

Party chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri confirmed that preparations were "100 percent complete" following a tour of the Mutare Polytechnic Grounds, where the conference will be held.

"We are good to go," she said. "All the main facilities are ready, including a fully furnished main hall, offices, and reliable power supply after the installation of a new Zesa transformer."

Muchinguri-Kashiri revealed that the party had raised US$4 million for the event — half of which came from party leadership — to cover major expenses including accommodation and food for over 5 000 delegates. Any surplus provisions, she added, will be donated to hospitals and orphanages.

The conference programme will begin with a Politburo meeting on Tuesday, followed by a Central Committee meeting on Wednesday in Harare before delegates travel to Mutare.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to commission the Mega Market Milling Plant and the National Pharmaceutical Warehouse at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital on Thursday. He will also launch the national tree-planting initiative at the site of the new provincial ZANU-PF offices.

While the commissioning of GMB silos has been deferred to November, the event will feature 20 billboards erected nationwide and full regalia provided for all delegates, Politburo, and Central Committee members.

Muchinguri-Kashiri also confirmed that delegations from Bulawayo and Matabeleland South intend to visit the Chimoio Liberation War Shrine in Mozambique as part of the programme.

"ZANU-PF remains a people's party," she said. "The overwhelming support we've received shows continued faith in the President's leadership and Vision 2030."

Party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa added that foreign delegates from sister revolutionary movements — including ANC (South Africa), FRELIMO (Mozambique), SWAPO (Namibia), CCM (Tanzania), MPLA (Angola), as well as representatives from China and Russia — are expected to attend.

He encouraged investors to explore opportunities in Manicaland Province, citing its rich mineral, agricultural, and tourism potential.

The conference will conclude on Saturday with a gala at the Mutare Showgrounds, where new party jingles and songs will be unveiled.
