Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube delivered a detailed economic address at the Zanu-PF annual conference in Mutare on Friday, highlighting government's roadmap for sustained growth and prosperity.

Minister Ncube expressed confidence that Zimbabwe is on track to achieve a 6.6% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in 2025, driven largely by strong performances in strategic sectors such as mining and agriculture. These industries, he said, are expected to generate significant domestic and export revenues, positioning the economy for long-term development.

"Mining and agriculture remain critical pillars for growth. Our focus is on maximising their potential to drive revenue, create jobs, and enhance value addition," Ncube said.

He emphasised the importance of macroeconomic stability in sustaining economic gains, noting that government is committed to strengthening the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency as a credible medium of exchange and store of value. He further highlighted the need for synchronisation between fiscal and monetary policies to manage inflation and support business operations.

The minister also reaffirmed the government's commitment to accelerating national infrastructure projects, which he said are vital for reducing the cost of doing business and improving public service delivery.

"These initiatives align with the Zanu-PF conference theme, ‘Attainment of Vision 2030 through Economic Empowerment and Value Addition,' which seeks to maximise returns on our nation's natural resources and human capital," Ncube added.

The address reflects the government's continued focus on strategic investment, economic stabilisation, and the mobilisation of national resources to achieve Vision 2030 objectives.
