LONG-time Highlanders benefactor Tshinga Dube has pledged to assist the club to acquire new players during the current Premier Soccer League transfer window.

The league leaders face off against Caps United at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday as they bid to maintain their lead and claim their first championship since 2006.

Dube, who is also the chairman of the Zimbabwe Football Trust and diamond mining company Marange Resources, aspires to be a Member of Parliament for the Makokoba constituency in the forthcoming elections under a Zanu-PF ticket.

He will face Gorden Moyo of MDC-T in the race.

Dube, who last week sponsored the Makokoba football challenge, said: "I will assist them to get a player during this transfer window. We have a long relationship with Highlanders and we have always assisted them in many ways and we are looking even beyond this."
