The awards were based on a survey carried out by Cumulative Research where 70 companies were interviewed on employee engagement.

"We carried out a research on 70 companies and from these companies we put them into 15 sectoral clusters like beverages, food and health among others," said Mrs Rose Nhamo the IPMZ president.

She added that from the 15 sectors, the transport and retail sectors were not awarded.

"Some of the sectors did not have winners because the companies refused to participate in the survey," said Mrs Nhamo.

Enterprise Growth general manager Mr Raun Smythe said that Zimbabwe was performing better as a country in employee engagement.

"I can say that Zimbabwe is performing better than other countries in terms of employee engagement in the region," he said.

Mrs Nhamo also said that this was the inaugural survey for employee engagement and that many more surveys would come.

"This is our inaugural survey for employee engagement, many more will come. We certainly hope that more companies will participate in the survey,"she said.
