Fast foods group, Innscor Africa is dangling a handsome voluntary retrenchment package to its bakery unit employees in a bid to trim down wage bill and operating costs.

This comes amid growing frustration in Bakers Inn's failure to raise operating capacity in the bread making facility from the current 50%.

In a memorandum letter addressed to employees, managing director Marcus Athitakis said the offer was valid until close of business on Monday 31 2014.

"Öbenefits of those employees willing to accept a voluntary retrenchments package are going to be calculated in accordance with cash in lieu of any outstanding leave, three months cash in lieu of notice, three months' salary (lump sum) severance pay being a thank your golden handshake pay for the valued input to the company.

"Also, one month salary for every year served being service paying recognition of number of dedicated years of service to the company and one month salary being relocation allowance," read part of the letter.

Athitakis advised that management reserves the right to turn down a request for consideration for voluntary retrenchment.

Employees wishing to take the offer are expected to contact the human resources department before the end this month.
