Alpha Omega Dairy will soon start exporting its products to Angola and Zambia while plans are advanced to introduce new products.

In an interview at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, Alpha Omega Dairy general manager Mr Stanley Nhari disclosed that the company is working hard to satisfy the local market before it starts exporting into the Sadc region.

"We are currently working on modalities to start exporting our products to Angola and Zambia firstly and later on spread our wings to other Sadc member states," said Mr Nhari.

Alpha Omega produces about 20 000 litres of milk daily.

Mr Nhari said lots of investment has gone into the plant with the new technology and innovation helping to reduce cost of production.

"Within 60-90 days from today we are also going to introduce new products of high quality in the Zimbabwe dairy market.  Professionalism that we have applied with no short-cuts has yielded positive results for our company," said Mr Nhari.

"Our new equipment of high tech quality from overseas is expected this week so that we mount the plant and start producing our new products," said Mr Nhari.

Mr Nhari said that the company's products were of international standards.

Alpha Omega Dairy produces their own stock feed of up to 75-80 percent of what the company requires.  The company was recently nominated for the Best Farm in Zimbabwe award.

It produces 12 tonnes of maize per hectare.

Mr Nhari said cash liquidity in the market and high interest rates of loans from banks has affected their expansion as political challenges also add to their crisis.

"We are not yet listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange for now because of the political environment as it is not yet conducive but we are competing well with other dairy companies in the country despite the state of affairs," said Mr Nhari.

Alpha Omega Dairy has over 2 000 dairy cattle.
