Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has unveiled its new SmartSuite Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) data packages, offering six plans designed to meet the diverse data needs of households, freelancers, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The packages range from the SmartLite plan, providing 50GB for light users, to SmartPro, offering 800GB for established SMEs. The mid-tier options include SmartPlus (75GB for families), SmartMax (100GB for larger homes and freelancers), SmartFlex (200GB for flexible scaling and small offices), and SmartUltra (400GB for heavy, multi-user households and SMEs).
The launch follows a notice last month informing customers that the older SmartBiz packages would be replaced with the more flexible SmartSuite offerings. Existing SmartBiz subscribers who already own compatible Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) can switch by dialing *143, selecting a new package, and crediting it accordingly.
Econet highlighted that the new packages are easy to upgrade and are geo-locked to a customer's location to ensure stable performance within their premises and network coverage area. Geo-locking restricts access to a specific geographical location, helping optimize bandwidth and ensure quality service for intended users.
SmartSuite packages are available at Econet Shops nationwide, with CPE routers also on sale. Customers may continue using their existing compatible CPEs or purchase new ones that meet SmartSuite specifications.
New subscribers will require a SmartSuite SIM in addition to a compatible CPE to access the service. Econet emphasized that its wide 4G LTE network and 300 deployed 5G base stations across major cities and towns make it the market leader in wireless connectivity in Zimbabwe.
Alongside the SmartSuite packages, Econet continues to offer a broad range of mobile data products, accessible on the go through smartphones and mobile devices.
"SmartSuite is designed to offer flexible plans that grow with your needs, providing reliable connectivity for households, SMEs, and business users across Zimbabwe," Econet said in a statement.
