Zesa Holdings has announced that Unit 3 at Hwange Power Station will be taken offline for statutory maintenance from 10 September to 24 October 2025, a move aimed at enhancing the unit's reliability and efficiency.
In a statement, the power utility assured customers that four other units at Hwange will remain operational during the maintenance period, ensuring continued electricity generation. "This exercise is essential to enhance the unit's availability and reliability," the statement read.
Zesa apologised for any inconvenience the outage may cause and thanked stakeholders for their understanding and continued support.
Hwange Power Station, Zimbabwe's largest thermal power plant, plays a critical role in supplying electricity to the national grid. The company stressed that routine maintenance and ongoing refurbishment works are part of long-term efforts to secure a sustainable and reliable energy supply for the country.
