Zimbabwe economy remains depressed, says AfDB
Published: 14 August 2013
The African Development Bank said Zimbabwe's economic growth is likely to be depressed with its real GDP projected to be less than $7 billion even though the country continues to record positive growth rates of above five percent.

AfDB said Zimbabwe will record 5.7% growth next year.

The harmonised elections have threatened to disrupt the country's future cost-effective prospects.

AfDB said, "As a result and in addition to resurging cycles of conflict and restricted access to finance and other services, many people remain trapped in poverty, depriving them the benefits implied by higher economic growth".
