Hwange Colliery Company is back on the job market to recruit a managing director after government turned down the choice of Godfrey Dzinomwa to lead the ailing coal producer following extensive interviews.

A report indicated that Dzinomwa had landed the high pressure job and his appointment was imminent.

About a month ago the Hwange board had recommended Dzinomwa to the Mines and Mining Development minister Obert Mpofu who accepted him but after his own consultations he realised that some people were not comfortable with Dzinomwa.
