The special Economic Zones Authority is established by the special Economic Zones Act {Chapter 14:34}.
The Authority, under the overall leadership of the Board, shall be responsible for the establishment of an Investor - friendly business environment with a view to attract both domestic and foreign investors to designated Special Economic Zones.
The Authority intends to develop the SEZs in strategic areas across the country as a strategy for promoting the development of world class industries that will lead to the diversification of the economy.
The development of these will follow public sector, private sector and public - private partnerships, as the market would indicate.
