Transparency International Zimbabwe (TIZ) is a non-profit, non-partisan, systems oriented local chapter of the international movement against corruption. Its broad mandate is to fight corruption and related vices through networks of integrity in line with the vision of a Zimbabwean Society free of corruption and corrupt practices.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the head of the organisation and is mandated to lead the secretariat giving direction to the daily operations of the organisation by implementing board approved strategies, policies and resolutions, designing and implementing programmes that fulfil the vision and mission of the organisation

Principal accountabilities
Develops and designs programme concepts with the assistance of the programmes team in order to ensure that the overall objectives of the organization are met in line with the strategic plan document approved by the board; Responsible for setting benchmarks for result based programme management by giving programme officers targets and through leading and directing programme activities; Develops the relevant monitoring and evaluation tools for the various programmes and projects; Oversees the quality and timeliness of all programme reports ensuring that reports are prepared according to contractual requirements; Leads all fundraising initiatives, giving direction and guidance to the team on areas that need support in order to meet the objectives of the strategic plan both for programmes and institutional capacity building; Leads through the Finance Officer to ensure full financial compliance and accountability, transparency, financial reporting and ensuring checks and balances of all financial matters; Designs and proposes for board approval and implements a supportive Human Resource Management strategy that includes staffing adequacy, recruitment, staff training and development, remuneration and overall employee motivation, wellness and employee relations, all designed to ensure the attainment of the approved strategies; Engages different Stakeholders in creating awareness of the need to fight corruption; Represents the organization in local and international platforms and standing as the Chapter Representative for the organization; Participates in Board Meetings and in Organisational Development issues

Educational qualifications and experience
An LLB Degree or a relevant Social Science Degree, Public Policy Degree; Minimum 10 years relevant experience, 5 years of which must have been in a senior managerial level in NGOs, civil society, private sector; A Master’s Degree in Developmental Economics, Law, Project Management, International Relations, Public Policy is an added advantage

Knowledge, skills, and attributes
Proven knowledge or experience in national and global governance, development, and policy framework; Proven leadership skills; Experience in programme management; Excellent appreciation of local and global development frameworks; Demonstrated experience in the civil society; Must be assertive and proactive; Must possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
