Finance & Administration Manager: The Sexual Rights Centre

The Sexual Rights Centre, based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in a Non-Governmental Organisation which promotes and protects the rights of marginalised persons and groups in select communities of Zimbabwe. It seeks to improve the quality of life of key populations by advocating for an inclusive legal environment, and change to equal access to social services, health care and economic opportunities to address stigma and societal attitudes towards these marginalised groups.

Key purpose
The Finance & Administration Manager, part of the management team, will assume overall responsibility and management of the Finance & Administration Department and is expected to provide a wide range of administrative services and maintain efficient office systems and procedures.

Key performance areas
Developing, implementing and managing financial management procedures, viz – payroll, budget and costing control, accounting functions, procurement procedures, contracts, inventory management and control procedures, security and legal protection of the SRC assets; Strategic and business planning; Developing a budgeting methodology and assisting management in preparation of annual budgets, and consolidation of budgets; Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports; Preparing quarterly reports for the Board; Preparation and management of payments to fiscal and other statutory agents; Management of the Human Resources portfolio in liaison with Executive Director; Developing and implementing financial and administrative policies, procedures and best practices processes; Managing the Finance & Administration Officer; Supporting the Director and the management team to implement the Strategic Plan.

Required skills and experience
Thorough knowledge of accounting practices, budgeting and procurement principles and practices; Knowledge of effective methods of organising and implementing accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and procurement functions; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to resolve complex budgeting and financial issues, and review and comprehend statistical data and financial reports; Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages and accounting software such as Pastel; Sound interpersonal relations skills across all different levels; Must have experience in working in the NGO sector; A strong work ethic; A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and administration will be an added advantage

Salary and benefits
Remuneration package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
