The National Employment Council (NEC) for Agriculture has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to Zimbabwe's agricultural transformation, walking away with top honours at the 2025 Zimbabwe CEO Network Awards.

The council was named a Gold Winner for its efforts in promoting sustainable farming, pioneering agricultural technologies, and building rural capacity to strengthen national food security. In addition, NEC Agriculture chief executive David Madyausiku received the coveted Super Platinum Award, celebrating his visionary leadership and commitment to the sector.

With 10 fully operational provincial offices nationwide, NEC Agriculture has prioritised accessibility and grassroots engagement, ensuring that even the most remote communities benefit from its services.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Madyausiku said NEC Agriculture's approach extends beyond economics into a national mission of transformation.

"NEC Agriculture is proud to play an active role in the realisation of Zimbabwe's Vision 2030. Our mission aligns seamlessly with the national agenda of achieving an empowered and prosperous upper-middle-income economy," he said.

"Through investment in sustainable farming practices, innovative agricultural technologies, rural capacity-building and resilient value chains, we are ensuring food security, job creation, and inclusive economic growth."

The council has built a strong brand based on professionalism and sector-specific expertise, which Madyausiku says is central to its effectiveness in delivering first-class industrial relations and advisory services.

"Our recruitment of personnel across diverse specialisations gives us a unique edge. We are nurturing more than crops — we are cultivating potential. From supporting smallholder farmers to expanding commercial agribusiness, NEC Agriculture is driving a shift from subsistence to productivity, from survival to prosperity."

He added that the accolades symbolised not only recognition but a mandate to continue championing change in the sector.

"To be recognised by the Zimbabwe CEO's Network, a platform synonymous with excellence, integrity and visionary leadership, is both humbling and motivating."

The Zimbabwe CEO Network Awards celebrate organisations and leaders who exhibit exemplary performance, innovation and contribution to national development. NEC Agriculture's win highlights the growing importance of institutional support in reshaping Zimbabwe's agricultural landscape, especially in the face of climate challenges and economic restructuring.

As the country moves towards its Vision 2030 goals, NEC Agriculture's role in empowering rural communities, modernising farming techniques, and strengthening agri-based livelihoods is poised to become even more critical.
