Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi has been officially conferred with the rank of Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Commander in a formal ceremony held at Zimbabwe Defence House today.

The appointment follows the promotion of General Emmanuel Matatu to Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF), with Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi assuming his new role on November 21.

During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi pledged his commitment to uphold the Constitution and to work under the guidance of ZDF Commander General Matatu, reaffirming his dedication to the country's defence forces.
