FC Platinum has announced the departure of Norman Mapeza, the coach who led the club to three Premier Soccer League titles and three Castle Challenge Cups over a decade-long association. Mapeza's exit marks the end of an era that spanned two spells and 10 years, concluding with his final match against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium.

The club, in a statement on Facebook, paid tribute to Mapeza's contributions, noting that his tenure at Mandava Stadium began in August 2014 and evolved into a historic era of success. "From his first match to an incredible 360 games at the helm of FC Platinum, Coach Mapeza has embodied the true spirit of what it means to be a Platso," the club said.

Under Mapeza's leadership, FC Platinum became a dominant force in Zimbabwean football, merging flair with discipline and establishing Mandava Stadium as a fortress for visiting teams. His influence extended beyond trophies, as he fostered a culture of excellence, inspired young players, and contributed to the broader Zvishavane community.

"Beyond the titles and accolades, coach Mapeza built a club culture rooted in discipline, excellence, and belief. The tactical brilliance and dedication not only brought silverware but inspired a generation of young players and fans," the club stated.

FC Platinum described Mapeza as a "legendary figure" whose decade-long tenure reshaped the club's identity and left a lasting legacy. "From his passion on the touchline to the roar of Mandava Stadium, Muchina weMajuzi remains a legendary figure in the story of FC Platinum. As this unforgettable decade comes to a close, we mark the end of an era and the beginning of a legacy."

The club did not disclose who would take over the coaching reins, but it paid homage to Mapeza's transformative impact on Zimbabwean football and the community surrounding the club.
