InnBucks MicroBank has announced a strategic partnership with retail chain TM Pick n Pay, marking a significant step in the expansion of digital financial services across Zimbabwe's retail sector.

The collaboration will allow customers to access InnBucks services at TM Pick n Pay outlets nationwide, effectively turning the retailer's branches into access points for everyday banking transactions.

Through the integration, users will be able to perform cash-in and cash-out transactions directly at till points, use the "Bank Change" feature to receive change digitally into their wallets, and make payments using their InnBucks balances at point-of-sale systems.

The rollout also includes the introduction of an InnBucks debit card, enabling swipe and tap functionality, which the company says will bridge the gap between digital wallets and traditional card-based payments.

InnBucks MicroBank chief executive Baldwin Guchu said the partnership reflects the company's goal of expanding financial access and embedding services into everyday commerce.

"Our mission has always been to bring financial services to the doorstep of every Zimbabwean," Guchu said. "By partnering with TM Pick n Pay… we are weaving InnBucks into the very fabric of daily commerce."

Retail banking executive Gilbert Tsongorera added that the integration is designed to improve transaction speed and reliability at scale, particularly in high-volume retail environments.

"The retail environment demands speed and precision," he said, noting that the system enables near-instant payments and wallet transactions directly at checkout points.

A key feature of the rollout is the "Bank Change" function, which allows customers to receive small change directly into their digital wallets, reducing reliance on cash handling and credit notes.

The partnership is part of a broader trend of financial technology firms embedding services into retail ecosystems, as digital payment adoption continues to grow across the country.

InnBucks said the move represents a shift toward deeper financial inclusion by bringing banking-style services into everyday shopping experiences, especially for customers who rely heavily on mobile-based financial platforms.
