Emirates announces management changes across Africa

As part of its continued growth strategy in Africa, Emirates has announced several rotations in its commercial operations team.

The moves are part of Emirates' commitment to offering staff the opportunity to grow and experience new challenges.

"It's our strategy to continuously develop and enhance our employees' capabilities through providing them with new and challenging markets to lead," said Jean Luc Grillet, Emirates' Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Africa. "Africa is a market that is constantly evolving and we remain committed to looking at new ways of developing our services and expanding our commercial footprint across the continent."

The management changes for Emirates' commercial operations in Africa include:

Paulos Legesse, started his career with Emirates in 2009 as a Country Manager for Nigeria and will be posted as Country Manager Zimbabwe effective from 15 April 2013 . In February 2013, Emirates introduced a Boeing 777-300ER on its daily flight to Harare, adding more than 1,600 seats a week on the route.

Mustafa Al Jabri, is a graduate of the UAE National Trainee Management Programme joined Emirates in 2005. Mustafa will now take on the role of Country Manager Tripoli with immediate effect moving from his current country manager position in Tunis.

Walid Bouzgarou, with immediate effect Walid will become Manager Tunis, moving from a similar position in Tripoli. Walid joined Emirates in 2006 as a Sales Manager for Tunis. In March 2012, Emirates upgraded its frequency and aircraft serving Tunis to become a daily service with an Airbus A340-500.

Manoj Nair, who joined Emirates in 2009 will move from Ghana to Nigeria starting from 15 April 2013, and will remain the Regional Manager for West Africa. In December 2012, Emirates responded to strong passenger and cargo demand in Nigeria by upgrading one of its Lagos flights to a Boeing 777-300, making both dailies serviced by Boeing 777s .

With a fleet of 200 fuel-efficient aircraft, the multi-award winning carrier flies to more than 130 destinations across six continents.
