The Senior Minister of State in the President's Office, Simon Khaya Moyo says government has declared Sanganai/ Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair a national event.

Ambassador Khaya Moyo made the announcement when he officially opened the Sanganai expo in the capital.

He revealed that the development will see the government funding the expo which was initially funded by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.

Senior Minister Moyo commended team tourism for their hard work which was exhibited at the just ended UNWTO General Assembly and this year's edition of Sanganai.

Moyo said the government will recapitalise the tourism sectors and strategic partners such as Air Zimbabwe.

The opening of the skies to other air lines was also mentioned as another positive move to promote regional and international tourism.

This year's edition of the Sanganai expo has attracted a total of 1 234 local exhibitors, 208 foreign exhibitors and 120 international buyers.

The official opening was witnessed by a number of ministers, government officials and the business community.
