Industrials ends week in the positive

ZSE's Industrials extended rising streak to 4 consecutive sessions to end the week in the positive territory largely propelled by meaningful volumes trading in blue chips.

Activity improved on the day with a total of 24 counters recording gains compared with 18 that traded yesterday.

Daily market turnover improved to $3,585 million on a volume of 8.650 million shares against yesterday's $2,658 million on a volume of 11.99 million shares. The Industrials Index gained 1.24 points or 0.61% to 204.00 taking its gains in the year so far to 0.93%,

Blue-chip Delta gained 1c or 0.71% to 142c taking its total market cap to $1,753 bin after the group announced the addition of 989 000 shares to beneficiaries of its share option scheme which will increase the number of Delta shares in issue to 1 234 656 515 from 1 233 670 515 with effect from yesterday.

Other heavyweights were buoyant as Econet added 1.8c or 2.94% to 63c while OK Zimbabwe picked up 0.4c or 2.05% to 19.9c. Innscor remained unchanged at 80c.

The Minings Index eased 0.44 points or 1.06% to 41.97 as Bindura led the top fallers on the board, shedding 0.15c or 7.89% 1.75c.

Art led the top risers on the board, advancing 0.2c or 100% to 0.4c while FML gained 0.4c or 4.71% to 8.9c. NMB added 0.2c or 3.08% to 6.7c and PPC traded 5c or 2.13% firmer at 240c.

Other notable risers, SeedCo gained 1c or 1.11% to 91c while Dawn added 0.01c or 1% to 1.01c. Dual listed Old Mutual traded 0.5c or 0.21% firmer at 240.5c.

On the downside, DZHL dropped 0.8c or 5% to 15.2c while Meikles eased 0.9c or 4.5% to 19.1c. ZHL traded 0.05c or 3.45% weaker at 1.4c while TA Holdings eased 0.2c or 3.23% to 6c.

Truworths traded 0.01c or 0.25% weaker at 4c.

The Datvest All Share Index ended the week 0.78% firmer at 137.23 and has done 1.87% in the past week while the heavyweights' measure closed 1.10% up at 144.63 taking its gains in the week to 2.69%.
