Govt ready to work with credible partners

Government says it is ready to work with credible and genuine partners in the implementation of large-scale development programmes aimed at addressing community needs.

Work being done by development partners towards the successful implementation of the economic blueprint, the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (ZIMASSET) is greatly appreciated by the government.

Officiating at the World Vision Annual Operations Review Symposium, Minister of State for Matabeleland North Province Ambassador Cain Mathema said government stands ready to collaborate with genuine development partners in ensuring sustainable economic transformation though the provision of sound health, education and sanitation services.

World Vision country director, Emmanuel Isch said while the year under review has been a challenging one the organisation is committed to accomplish the ongoing developmental projects with a total of US$60 million budgeted to 2017.

The organisation was able to channel a total of US$20 million towards emergency responses following the El Nino induced drought while over 3 000 households were assisted after floods destroyed their homes.
