President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officiate at Zimbabwe's premier mining, engineering, and transport expo, Mine Entra 2025, on 9 October at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition and Conference Smart City (ZIECS).

Organised by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, the Zimbabwe Miners Federation, and the Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe, the expo will run under the theme "Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining."

ZITF Company chairperson Busisa Moyo said preparations are at an advanced stage, with over 240 direct exhibitors confirmed, including participants from China, India, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Exhibitors will cover sectors such as heavy and light equipment, engineering, transport and logistics, research institutions, and financial services.

"The highlight of the program will be the official opening ceremony on 9 October, headlined by the President and attended by the Minister of Mines, cabinet ministers, industry leaders, and international delegates," Moyo said.

The expo will feature an industry-driven conferencing program in partnership with the Chamber of Mines and Zimbabwe Miners Federation, focusing on policy development and sustainable mining practices. Topics will include the future of Zimbabwe's mining sector, technological advancements, and climate-resilient mining practices.

Running concurrently with Mine Entra is the Africa Infrastructure Built Environment Conference and Expo (Africonfex), themed "Smart Moves: Powering Zimbabwe's Infrastructure Evolution." Africonfex aims to foster cross-sectoral engagement in infrastructure development, focusing on smart city design, inclusive urban planning, climate-resilient construction, and innovation in building technologies. The anchor conference will be officially opened by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Felix Mhona, on 8 October.

ZITF CEO Dr Nicholas Ndebele explained that combining the two expos provides synergy, as mining and infrastructure equipment often overlap, creating opportunities for stakeholders to explore integrated solutions for Zimbabwe's development.

The Mine Entra 2025 expo also includes the annual Mine Entra Charity Golf Tournament, reinforcing the event's commitment to social responsibility while promoting industry growth.
