The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has confirmed that preparations are complete for the upcoming public examinations, set to begin next week.

Ordinary Level candidates will start with Mathematics Paper 1 in the morning and English Paper 1 in the afternoon on Monday, while Advanced Level students will begin with History Paper 1 and Agriculture Engineering Paper 1.

ZIMSEC spokesperson Ms Nicky Dhlamini expressed confidence that the examinations would proceed as planned, ensuring the integrity and security of the assessment process.

She highlighted that the new system implemented to safeguard examinations has proven effective, noting that there have been no incidents of exam paper leaks in the past two years. "The integrity systems of examinations are reviewed annually to ensure best practices and updated measures to secure the assessments," Ms Dhlamini said.

Practical assessments began on 15 September and have been successfully conducted, with the council optimistic that this momentum will continue into the written examinations.

ZIMSEC called on all stakeholders and the public to help protect the integrity of the exams, emphasising that this is crucial for the benefit of current and future candidates.

"Examinations start on Monday, 13 October 2025. Ordinary Levels will write Mathematics P1 in the morning and English P1 in the afternoon, while Advanced Level will start with History P1 and Agriculture Engineering P1," Ms Dhlamini said.

She added that the council remains committed to transparency and ongoing communication with the public throughout the examination period.
