Duties and responsibilities
Working under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative for Zimbabwe (FAOR), and with guidance from the Subregional Communications Specialist, and ensuring that all communication and information outputs from the assignment are in line with FAO's corporate communication policy and operational guidelines, the Graphic Designer will conceptualize, develop and produce creative concepts for communication materials, publications, and social marketing and outreach campaigns, ensuring consistency and continuity throughout the process.
 
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Designing concepts for the branding and visual identity of FAO Zimbabwe communication products/campaigns, according to FAO rules and guidelines, which successfully reflect the Organization's mission, key themes and core strategies, while appealing to a variety of audiences; Develop visual identities for use in a broad range of corporate materials, such as – but not limited to – the following: Publications for projects (books, pamphlets, booklets, leaflets, etc.); Event/learning events collateral such as posters, banners and roll-ups; Folders, Notebooks and other FAO corporate visibility items; Preparation of camera- ready versions of other graphics as needed, paying attention to FAO publishing guidelines and corporate colors; Perform other related duties as required.

Competencies and requirements
University degree in graphic design or related field; Work experience in the field of graphic design / layout / publication  production; Knowledge of printing and pre-press processes; Excellent command of Adobe, Creative Suite package especially; InDesign, Photo Shop, and Illustrator; Ability to work efficiently in a team while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity; Demonstrated creativity.
