The equities market opened the week lower, maintaining the downward trend from last week as activity remains low.

Activity today was limited to only 10 counters.

The industrial index shed 1.05 (or 0,69 percent) to close at 151.85 weighed down by heavyweight counters Econet and Innscor.

Giant telecoms Econet Wireless lost a cent to settle at 42 cents, while conglomerate Innscor dropped 0,99 cents to close at 67 cents.

On the downside, seed producer SeedCo was marginally up 0,01 cents to trade at 95,01 cents.

The mining index continues to be steady at 40.28 after Bindura, Falgold, Hwange and RioZim maintained previous price levels at 3,21 cents, 1 cent, 3,90 cents, and 15 cents, respectively
