Zifa takes delivery of new team coaches

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has taken delivery of two brand-new 66-seater team coaches in a significant move aimed at strengthening logistical support for national teams and football development programmes across the country.

The acquisition marks a major milestone in ZIFA's efforts to improve operational efficiency and provide better transport facilities for players, coaches and officials, addressing a challenge that has long affected Zimbabwean football.

The handover ceremony was attended by ZIFA vice-president Loveness Mukura and executive committee member Kudzai Kadzombe, highlighting the importance the association places on improving the welfare and working conditions of its teams.

For years, inadequate transport arrangements have been a recurring concern within Zimbabwean football, often complicating travel to training camps, competitive fixtures and development programmes. The arrival of the new coaches is expected to provide safer, more reliable and more comfortable transport for national teams and technical staff.

The investment also reflects ZIFA's broader vision of professionalising football administration and creating stronger support systems for the game at all levels, from grassroots development to elite competition.

The timing of the acquisition is particularly significant as the Zimbabwe national football team prepare for upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaigns, while the Zimbabwe women's national football team continue their quest for qualification to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Development programmes running across Zimbabwe's provinces are also expected to benefit from the enhanced transport capacity.
