Bulawayo industries to recapitalise
Published: 07 August 2013
Captains of industry in Bulawayo say there is need for business entities to come together and strategise on ways to recapitalise the industry.

Former Bulawayo National Chamber of Commerce chairperson and businessman Jabulani Nkomo said it is crucial for business people to converge and identify key industries that need urgent intervention, before engaging the government to source funding.

Mr Nkomo said the business community is hopeful that under the new political dispensation, Bulawayo industries will be given a lifeline.

The national vice president of the Affirmative Action Group Sam Ncube said it is important for business entities in the city to work together as it is them who can determine the pace at which business will move.

He said it will be easier to direct industry grievances to relevant offices under the new government.

Some industries in Bulawayo downsized their operations in the past few years while some shut down altogether due to cash constraints.
