Econet has given notice of subscriber registration following the coming into effect of Statutory Instrument 142 of 2013 on October 1, 2013.

Econet says that subscribers are now required to report any loss of SIM card, theft or destruction to their nearest police station.

The notice also says in the event of a change of name, address or ownership all customers are now required to notify Econet within 21 days of such changes occurring.

Econet says in the event of a lost or destroyed card, subscribers are now required to report any such loss to the nearest police station.

The police will issue a report bearing a reference number and Econet will assist with replacement of the line upon production of positive identification and the referenced police report.
