Former Zanu-PF MP Tracy Mutinhiri has appealed to voters in Mashonaland East to dump Zanu-PF in the forthcoming elections, saying people had suffered enough under the ruling party.

Mutinhiri, now a senior MDC-T official, said people from Mutoko, Murehwa and Uzumba suffered from serious violence during the 2008 elections, which was blamed on Zanu-PF.

"People in Mashonaland East suffered at the hands of Zanu-PF. children were killed, husbands, wives and parents kidnapped in the dead of the night at the hands of Zanu-PF. when July 30 comes it is time to punish those who have been violent, let us not give them our votes," she said.

Mutinhiri said she had suffered at the hands of Zanu-PF and held the party responsible for the death of one of her daughters in a mysterious car accident.

"They took away Itai Dzamara, up to now we don't know where he is," she said.

"As a mother, it is painful to go to bed every day not knowing where your child is.

"Zanu-PF killed my child and we can't be voting for people with blood on their hands."

Mutinhiri said MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa was the best leader to vote for in the forthcoming polls.
