The China-Zimbabwe Exchange Centre will host a China zero-tariff policy workshop on April 30 at the Celebration Centre in Harare, aimed at helping local businesses access duty-free entry into the Chinese market.

The limited-access event is expected to attract around 300 stakeholders and traders keen to tap into the preferential trade framework.

Speaking at a press briefing, managing director Walter Chanaka said the initiative is designed to unlock export opportunities for Zimbabwean companies.

"Under this policy, China has eliminated tariffs on thousands of export items from African countries, including Zimbabwe," he said.

"This opens the Chinese market to Zimbabwean agricultural products, minerals, manufactured goods and other approved commodities."

Chanaka described the zero-tariff framework as a major strategic opportunity for local businesses to expand into one of the world's largest economies.

"This is not just a policy—it is an open door," he said.
