Industrials in modest losses as blue chips trade mixed

Industrials closed Thursday with marginal losses as large cap market players traded mixed while daily turnover remained reasonable above the $1 million level.

ZSE's mostly traded counters Delta and Econet closed stable as the market await the release of Econet's interims expected this afternoon while Delta has indicated it will publish the interims on November 14.

There were 8 counters trading in the green while only 5 counters closed in the downside with 17 trading unchanged at previous levels out of the 30 that traded.

The Industrials Index dropped 0.05 points or 0.02% to 209.58 while the Minings Index eased 0.23 points or 0.48% to 47.74 as Falgold was bid lower at 4c and offered 5c.

Heavyweight counters Delta, Econet and OK Zimbabwe traded unchanged at 135c, 60c and 26c respectively while other blue chips Innscor dropped 2c or 2.30% to 85c and SeedCo lost 1c to 99c.

BAT and Old Mutual were also unchanged at 1200c and 248.61c respectively.

Daily market turnover improved to $1,814 million on a volume of 12.52 million shares against yesterday's $1,275 million on a volume of 1120 million shares.

Hunyani led the top gainers on the board, advancing 1c or 33.33% to 4c while NTS added 0.35c or 11.67% to 3.35c.

Zimplow Holdings remained positive after gaining 0.30c or 7.14% to 4.5c while Hippo added 5c or 4.76% to 110c.

Tourism counter African Sun remained in favour after advancing 0.10c or 4% firmer to 2.6c. RTG however remained stable at 1.5c.

Other notable risers, Masimba added 0.19c or 3.79% to 5.2c while FBC gained 0.45c or 3.73% to 12.5c. DZHL recovered 0.50c or 2.70% to 19c.

Pelhams was the top loser on the board, shedding 0.03c or 23.08% to 0.1c while MedTech eased 0.01c or 20% to 0.04c. Dawn eased 0.01 c or 0.83% to 1.2c.

The Datvest All Share Index however managed to scratch out gains after recovering 0.19 points or 0.14% to 140.12 while the FBC ZSE-10 Index eased 0.10 points or 0.07% to 145.49.
