Zimbabwe on recovery path, claims Mnangagwa
Published: 27 February 2018
President Emmerson Mnangagwa says Zimbabwe is on path to recovery as evidenced by successes scored during his first 100 days in office.

A combination of a sustainable budget, cuts on excise duties, zero tolerance to corruption, clampdown on road blocks and re-engagement are some of the key pointers of how the new political order has managed to whither the storm according to President Mnangagwa's message posted on his social media facebook page.

On his inauguration, President Mnangagwa presented himself as an open minded person, a servant leader willing to give an ear to all reason.

In conformity to that he has held several interfaces with chiefs, students, the business community, diasporans, the church, fellow African leaders and Zimbabweans at large to hear what needs to be done and how.

100 days down the line, expectations from Zimbabweans are still high, however the President said change takes time and the pace can be frustrating but it takes pain for the gains to eventually be felt.

President Mnangagwa's message is an honest element that provides an opportunity for Zimbabweans and the global community to understand his vision for a collective unity of purpose in restoring political, social and economic success.

With Zimbabwe having plunged into political, social and economic wilderness and corruption existing as a cancer, expectations from Zimbabweans while looking at having urgent quick-fixing mechanism, the steps to achieving zero corruption, economic stability, job creation, affordable health and education among other needs might take long but with a collective responsibility, it is possible.

Observers note like in any transformation, success comes after notable pains of hard work.
