Kuda Tagwirei joins Zanu-PF Central Committee

Prominent businessman Dr Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei, widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe's most influential economic figures, has officially joined the Zanu-PF Central Committee, marking his formal entry into the political arena.

Tagwirei, who leads Sakunda Holdings, has been a key player in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and infrastructure, with his enterprises contributing significantly to national projects. Long associated with influence and success in both business and policy circles, his move into politics signals a major shift in Zimbabwe's political and economic landscape.

The announcement was made during the ongoing Zanu-PF Annual National People's Conference in Mutare, where Tagwirei was confirmed as a member of the ruling party's Central Committee.

"Dr Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei is now an official member of the Zanu-PF Central Committee. The CC is the party's highest decision-making body. The Politburo is a committee selected by the First Secretary from the CC to assist in managing various portfolios."

The Central Committee serves as Zanu-PF's supreme decision-making organ, responsible for defining policy direction, formulating party strategies, and overseeing national development priorities.

Tagwirei's inclusion in this powerful body is expected to deepen the intersection between business and politics.
