National Patriotic Front (NPF) Insiza South national assembly candidate, Johnson Langa has dismissed allegations of vote rigging in the July 30 polls, saying the election will reflect the true wishes of the people.

Langa was speaking on the sidelines of a campaign rally held at Mahole business centre in Insiza district this Saturday.

The rally that was supposed to be addressed by the NPF interim leader, Retired Brigadier General Ambrose Mutinhiri was a characterised by a low turnout, with party supporters and leaders attributing this to intimidation.

"The party has support in this area but the problem is that people are being threatened. They are being told that if they are seen here, they will not get farming inputs. This is not fair," one NPF member.

Langa however said the party will continue embarking on door to door campaigns to garner support for the party.

The aspiring legislator went on to rubbish vote rigging claims being peddled by some opposition parties, saying the elections will be credible.

"There is no way that the election is going to be rigged. We are going to have our election agents throughout the voting process. The ballot will be counted at the polling stations, so I don't believe that elections can be rigged," he said.

Other party leaders said the creation of jobs is the party's number one priority, hence the need for young people to turn out in their numbers on the 30th of July and vote for NPF.

"Our biggest concern is the high unemployment rate in the country. There are people who are in their 30s and 40s who have never held a pay slip in their hands and we as NPF believe that things have to change," said Micho Khuthswekhaya Ndlovu, who is the party's chairperson for Bulawayo Province.

"We urge young people to come out and vote for NPF and to vote for Retired Brigadier General Mutinhiri because we have big plans for this country," said Stanely Manhuzvane, the party's Youth League Political Commissar for Bulawayo Province.

NPF also assured the electorate that once voted into office, it will improve socio-economic infrastructure in rural communities.

Langa will battle it out with Zanu-PF's Spare Sithole, MDC Alliance's Angilacala Ndlovu and Nkululeko Tshuma of NPP in Insiza South Constituency.
