Asa Resource Group firms plead insolvency

At least 10 companies owned by Asa Resource Group (Asa) are pleading insolvency, accusing Chinese executives of breaching exchange control regulations, that has, in turn, resulted in the underperformance of the firms, the High Court has heard.

The 10 companies, Freda Rebecca Gold Mine Limited, Freda Rebecca Holdings (Private) Limited, Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited, Hunters Road Nickel Mine (Private) Limited, Trojan Nickel Mine Limited, BSR Limited, Greenline Enterprises (Private) Limited, Asa Services (Zimbabwe) Limited, Bindura Estates (Private) Limited and Mwana Properties (Private) Limited, have since approached the High Court seeking to be placed under judicial management, as creditors and former employees seek to attach the firms' property.
