President Emmerson Mnangagwa last week disclosed that government is developing a comprehensive diamond policy to regulate activities in the extraction of the gemstones.

Zimbabwe's diamond sector is comprised of two players, the ZCDC and Murowa Diamonds.

Last year the state owned ZCDC contributed about 80 percent of diamond output in the country, according to the Chamber of Mines.
