Mine to lose equipment

Published: 24 April 2019
EQUIPMENT belonging to Eldorado Mine in Chinhoyi will today go under the hammer to settle a debt owed to one of the country's leading security firms.

The Chinhoyi High Court has instructed the sheriff to sell by public auction part of the mine's movable property, including mining machinery, to settle its debts to Fawcett Security.

The equipment include a heavy duty cutting machine, two 250kv Ingersoll Rand Compressors, one John Deere Tractor 5082E, an orange trailer, a plant bow mill, three cars, two generators and an excavator.

The auction will take place today at Eldorado Mine in Chinhoyi, starting at 1000hrs.

Early this year, the miner witnessed deaths of several artisanal miners after its mine shaft collapsed.

After it had stalled its operations, government ordered management to resume operations or risk losing their mining licence.
